For Adoption - Taro
Current Location - Pilot Peak, Nevada

Taro is a gorgeous young Malamute/Samoyed mix.  He was found as a 4-5 month old stray puppy, and is now about a year and a half. He had been on his own for quite some time when found and he is still a little cautious about people, especially some men, but he eventually warms up to the ladies! He wants to chase kitties if they run, so he is not safe unsupervised with them. He is young and busy and really enjoys the company of other dogs - in fact he just LOVES other dogs! He will continue to need help learning social interactions with people, requires structure in his life, and needs some more training.  He is very smart, however, and is already house trained and he also completed a 6-week obedience class, but he has a weakness for shoes if they are left out and he has been known to do a little sneaky counter surfing when given the opportunity! He is current on inoculations, neutered and microchipped. Now he just needs a patient, caring home to help him with his education. He will need at least one other playful doggie friend to live with and would probably do best in a rural setting as he loves the great outdoors. He is also great at riding in the car.  Are you Taro's special friend?

For Adoption - Lola
Current location - Pilot Peak, Nevada

Sweet, Pretty Lola, is a 3 year old female GSD/Sib/wolf mix, very sweet disposition and a loving girl,  who needs a lot of exercise and a big yard, well secured to burn off her endless energy.  She is very sensitive and reads body language and emotions very well.  She is a very special girl.  She knows basic obedience and follows commands well.

Lola is GREAT with people, but  can be  aggressive with dogs that she doesn't know. That being said she almost always gets over it a wants to play, she just needs to be introduced in the right way, but she can be with larger dogs only, no smaller woofers/animals.  Lola plays too rough for smaller dogs, and will be aggressive to them.

Lola loves being indoors, but is best not left in the house unattended. Lola is basically housebroke...but will occasionally mark or have an accident. She needs a secure yard, with a warm shelter for when her owners are not home, and will be there to greet you with wags and kisses when you get home, and ready to come inside for her dinner!    Lola  is spayed and microchipped.

Lola and Yaka have grown up together and we are hoping that we can keep them together but will consider placing them separately if we can't find a wonderful home that will take them both.  Lola needs to be in home where she has a male canine companion to partner up with as she does not like to be alone.

For Adoption - Yaka  - Current location - Pilot Peak, Nevada

Gorgeous Yaka -  Yaka is a 4 year old male malamute mix with a great personality. He is an absolute joy! He is great with all people - male/female and kids. He is a very social guy and plays well with other dogs and gets along great with puppies too. He is fully house broken and he is OK unattended inside the house. He is a very tall boy and weighs around 100 lbs, and is neutered and microchipped. He is good on a leash and loves to go for hikes but has no problem laying around and being lazy. Yaka knows basic obedience commands very well, but when Yaka is out for a walk, he loves to go, go, go and he can get very focused on what he is wanting to do, so he would do best with someone experienced with Malamutes.

Lola and Yaka have grown up together and we are hoping that we can keep them together but will consider placing them separately if we can't find a wonderful home that will take them both.

For Adoption - Akoyia
Current Location - Oregon

This is Akoyia, a 9 month old precious sweetheart of a girl. She is a low content mal/sibe/wolf mix. Akoyia is absolutely a doll baby, she is so loving and sweet and has the best temperament. She loves to play with other doggies. She is ok on a leash, housetrained, crate trained, and ok with kitties... just a really adoptable sweet girl.

If you are interested in Akoyia, would like info on the adoption process, and an adoption application please contact:   Kim Kahl at wolfangelrescue@ykwc.net , member of Wolfdog Rescue Resources.   http://www.wrr-inc.org/

For Adoption - Lobo
Current Location - Wendover, Utah.

Through no fault of his own, Lobo has come into rescue at age 8. He is in excellent health and physical condition and is an active and playful boy. He really wants to have his own home again where he will be loved. Lobo is a really good boy and does very well with obedience. He knows sit, down, stay, heel, shake, come, get in the truck and give me a kiss....what more could someone ask???!!!!! Lobo loves to go for car rides and he enjoys hiking and jogging.   He does have a high prey drive so would not be good in a home where there are cats or other small animals. Lobo has plenty of good years left and he is a beautiful dog who would make someone an awesome companion...perhaps someone with an older female who has lost her companion??? Lobo is neutered and current on inoculations.  Though he was always an outdoors dog
before coming into rescue, he seems to love being indoors with people.

He is also listed at Moonsong Mals.

For Adoption - Cleo
Current Location - Pilot Peak, Nevada.

Cleo and her family were parted do to a ban on wolfdogs in the city that they lived.  We took her as a temporary placement as the family was hoping to move and get her back, but then they did not get in a position to do so.  She’s eight years old and is spayed.  She has been with us going on three years, and she is a wonderful loving girl, but she really needs a place where she can be away from other female wolfdogs.  She gets along great with males, but is very focused on wanting to fight with other females, which usually ends up in her getting hurt.  She can be an indoor or outdoor dog, she was raised with a small child, a cat, and another dog, and was wonderful with them. She is housebroke and leash trained. She travels in a car well and she loves to go for hikes and jogs in the wilderness.  Cleo would be great for a family that has time to spend with her and would do best with a friendly male canine in the household too. Cleo is current on shots, worming, and just had her teeth cleaned (April, 2010).  For more info on Cleo please contact Deeanna at deeannac@wild-side.org, deeannac@msn.com, or 702-498-3068 (cell).
